STRATA, a fighting game where your face becomes a fossil

A browser fighting game where a webcam photo of your face is dug out of rock.

I built STRATA for the VelociCode 2026 game jam. You center your face in the webcam, it snaps a photo, and you brush the sediment off with the mouse. Your face comes out as an inked fossil portrait, bolted to the chest of a stone and bone golem.

There are four modes. Versus for two players, a story mode with a boss and two endings, an endless solo descent, and a three-floor crypt you can explore. There are six fighter types, and when you fill the bar you turn into a real prehistoric animal.

It runs in the browser with no install, and everything is drawn and synthesized in code. The photo stays in the browser's memory and is never uploaded or stored. If you have no camera, you can play as an ammonite.
